Auckland Sport:Recount about Netball

Today we had our first Netball Session.We learnt how to chest pass and holding the ball shaping our fingers to form a 'W'. Next,we had time for a game.Everyone was happy and screaming.The game started and there was two teams our blood pressure rising and our sweat getting ready to run free on our skin.The instructors called out a number and the people who has the same number runs to the ball and chest pass to all your team mates. When you're done,you run back and place the ball where you got it from.

The excitements was in a great measurements.People screaming and the rushing was great.The time was up.The opposite team won.We had fun and Phoenix thanked the instructors.I can’t wait until next week.

Scooting Skills

Today we had our first scooting session.Auckland Transport is trying to get people out of cars and walk instead.Cars pollute the atmosphere.I have learnt how to emergency stop and how to cross the pedestrian crossing with the scooter.In the future,I hope people will walk more and use less vehicles,so we can breathe clean air.

My Holiday Recount

In the holidays,I went to church.Not just any church,a church which just happens once a year and its called ‘Fakame’ (A White Sunday when the kids say their memory verse).It was really fun.I felt comfortable and wavering at the same time.I was in Class 4.The number got higher from 1 to 3.Seeing kids crying when saying their memory verse got me SO nervous I was going to faint.

“Class 4” the chairman said.The first person said there verse,he read it fast he got a mistake,missing out lines and names,but the faster he said it,the faster it’s going to be my turn.When he was finished,all was silence,just silence.All of a sudden “Lisiate” I was so nervous,my heart pounding so fast it was faster than a professional drummer,I think.I walked up walking to the mic picking it up and I looked at everyone.I looked at them and they looked at me,my brain telling me to say it.I took a big breathe and read it.“Here it goes” I whispered to myself.

I read my verse and looking at everyone.I try to hold my tears,but my tears trying to break out just like prisoners trying to break out.I looked at the ground and my tears retreating back to where it belongs.I read nervously and I felt calm reading my verse.I tried to read fast but I couldn’t,maybe I wasn't made to speak fast,I think.I was finished and silence for a second and them “Malo” people thanking me and I was really proud of myself.After that,the children had a big feast and it was delicious.Too bad it only happens once a year.I can’t wait until next year.I wonder what class am I going to next.

Hospital Recount

Today I have been in the Hospital looking after my sister.I have been staying here for more than 5 hours.It kind of boring,if you stay here for long.But when you get use to it,you will enjoy it (I THINK).I had a very good time and I enjoyed it.

M.O.T.A.T Recount

M.O.T.A.T RecountWe went to MOTAT to learn about Simple Machines and Mechanisms. We first went to the car engine. There was a video playing about how the engine worked. The car engine had gears, cogs and wheels. On the video when the engine worked, the long metal cylinder in the middle spun very, very fast.Then we went to a hall full of different cars and a train that was built to be used in the future. We saw a plane engine placed in front of the train to the right. It was big and we saw gears and cogs again.After that, we had a turn spinning the engine in the big hall of cars. It showed us how it works when a car starts. It also had cogs and gears.During the class lessons, we learnt what gears, cogs, pulleys, levers and wheels do. After that we had twenty minutes to build something which had cogs, pulleys, gears, levers, wheels, wedges, screws and inclined planes. I felt excited trying to build something.Alex and I built a biplane. It was awesome.
There were new exhibits in MOTAT. It was Military Month so MOTAT displayed AA Guns,FV 432 Tanks, Military transport like bikes. It was so fascinating and interesting. The most fascinating for me was the AA Gun because that is the first time in my life seeing a real AA Gun. It was tall and caught my eyes in a SNAP!!.It was an interesting trip because I have learned so much about Simple Machines and Mechanisms. I enjoyed it and I hope I go there again soon with my parents because the time was too short.

Maths Whizz

Today I learned my adding and borrowing from big numbers.If the equation was 23 - 14.First,I do 3 - 4,but I can't minus 4 from 3.I borrow 1 from the 2 and it makes the 3 to 13 and makes the 2 to 1.So I minus 4 from 13 which equals 9 and 1 - 1 = 2 and the answer is 29.I had fun on Maths Whizz today.I hope you use this method on your maths work.
