Today I went on Sunshine Online to read 'The Hubble Telescope'.It was about a telescope in space which takes photos of nebula,stars and galaxies.It sees thing which we can't see.I like reading because it will help in the near future.

Today I read I Want to Act by Felicity Gordon and Illustrated Barbara Vagonzzi.I read one chapter.I am going to read another tomorrow.The activity was very very easy.I am proud of myself.

Netball Session Description

What an AMAZING session we had today.We all got skills taught,chest,passing,stepping,faking,goal shooting,catching and how to do the swift movement.Everyone was active,nervous,sporty and getting their lungs filled with enough air to cheer hard to their team mates. The class looked happy even though they were nervous in the inside.Everyone’s faces looked like they are versing another opponent from a different school.It like they don’t know their friends on the other team.We played a game and it was so much fun.It was so much that everyone was rushing and cheering to the top of their lungs.Everyone was talkative,tired,proud surprised,sweaty and some was jealous.The two teams was cheering at their own team mates.I can’t wait until next week for another game.

Maths Whizz

Today I was working on Maths Whizz on 'Word Problems'.It asked questions like 'A young chimps weighs 18 kg and how many would it weigh if it was 8 chimps?'.It was easy and fun.I would improve on my maths.

China's Treasure

Today I read a story called 'China's Treasure'.Written by Lucy Hannah and Illustrated by Wang Wei and Kelvin Hawley.The story was about what China's treasure is like swords.The activity was called 'The Word Game'.It was easy for me and I'm proud of it.I am going to improve my reading by going on Sunshine Online.

Ninjas

Today I read Ninja,it was about a boy called Matt.He was so nervous about doing karate class.I like reading that book a give a picture of me doing karate class.I am going to read it again.

Tread Lightly Caravan

Today Room 10 went to the Tread Lightly.The Tread Lightly Caravan is a programme about the environment.We played a game called Gecko and Vines,it was like snake and ladders.I learnt how to save the environment and protect the earth,by turning the tap off when I’m brushing my teeth and take quicker and shorter shower.Make sure I have a clean one too.

After that,we went to the Caravan.It was fascinating because the had a microscope inside and a touch computer.The microscope was amazing.We can take a small plastic bowl with a dead insect or object inside.We zoomed close and we can see clearly the eyes which had a lot to lenses.The microscope can see what we can’t.

We had to answer questions about ‘Energy,Transport,Food and Waste’.I had a great time.I would like to do it again.

Maths Whizz

Today I learnt how to measure water and measure objects.I got all of them right I am proud of myself.

Orienteering

Today some of the Room 10 people went to Waiatarua Reserve to do Orienteering.It's our first time doing orienteering inter schools.We were very nervous.The most important things about orienteering is speed and map reading.

Next time I go orienteering,I know what to do.I can't wait until next time.It was a good exercise too.It will make us fit.Thank you Nicole for choosing our school to compete with the other schools.I had a really great time there.

Today on Maths Whizz I have learnt to measure ml (millilitres),mm (millimetres),kg (kilograms) and g (grams).I am a bit clever from an hour ago.I am proud of myself that I got it right.

Netball Lesson

Today we have just have finished our Netball Session.My team was so gallant and tranquil at the same time.We learnt how to step a defender and block the attacker from throwing the ball.Mrs Raj called out each number.When Mrs Raj was going to call out a number peoples heart pounding so fast,blood pressure rising and their brains telling the body parts to get ready to run as fast as they can and pass the ball.I can't wait until next week for the next session.

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day,we didn't do much at all.All we did was just going to church that's all.I forgot to make breakfast for mum in the morning.Because I was busy playing games.By the way,we helped her and cleaned the house.To be honest,she did most of the work.After church,we went to see our grandpa,because he is very sick.

My sister's plan didn't work,because we didn't go to the shop.But the good thing was,that my mum's cousin came with food and we had a big delicious feast.All was island food.The day was nearly over and we were tired.Her cousin went and we just stayed home doing what we always do in the weekends.My mum and dad sitting in the lounge talking,while Salelei plays games and my sister watching T.V.We kind of had fun.Well I can't wait until Father's.Let's see if the same thing is going to happen my dad or not.

Today I read  'The Longest Eel in the World' by John Carr and Illustrated by Michael Wilkin.I am able to understand the story and complete all the related activities.I am proud of myself.

Room 10

Auckland Sport:Recount about Netball

Today we had our first Netball Session.We learnt how to chest pass and holding the ball shaping our fingers to form a 'W'. Next,we had time for a game.Everyone was happy and screaming.The game started and there was two teams our blood pressure rising and our sweat getting ready to run free on our skin.The instructors called out a number and the people who has the same number runs to the ball and chest pass to all your team mates. When you're done,you run back and place the ball where you got it from.

The excitements was in a great measurements.People screaming and the rushing was great.The time was up.The opposite team won.We had fun and Phoenix thanked the instructors.I can’t wait until next week.

Scooting Skills

Today we had our first scooting session.Auckland Transport is trying to get people out of cars and walk instead.Cars pollute the atmosphere.I have learnt how to emergency stop and how to cross the pedestrian crossing with the scooter.In the future,I hope people will walk more and use less vehicles,so we can breathe clean air.

My Holiday Recount

In the holidays,I went to church.Not just any church,a church which just happens once a year and its called ‘Fakame’ (A White Sunday when the kids say their memory verse).It was really fun.I felt comfortable and wavering at the same time.I was in Class 4.The number got higher from 1 to 3.Seeing kids crying when saying their memory verse got me SO nervous I was going to faint.

“Class 4” the chairman said.The first person said there verse,he read it fast he got a mistake,missing out lines and names,but the faster he said it,the faster it’s going to be my turn.When he was finished,all was silence,just silence.All of a sudden “Lisiate” I was so nervous,my heart pounding so fast it was faster than a professional drummer,I think.I walked up walking to the mic picking it up and I looked at everyone.I looked at them and they looked at me,my brain telling me to say it.I took a big breathe and read it.“Here it goes” I whispered to myself.

I read my verse and looking at everyone.I try to hold my tears,but my tears trying to break out just like prisoners trying to break out.I looked at the ground and my tears retreating back to where it belongs.I read nervously and I felt calm reading my verse.I tried to read fast but I couldn’t,maybe I wasn't made to speak fast,I think.I was finished and silence for a second and them “Malo” people thanking me and I was really proud of myself.After that,the children had a big feast and it was delicious.Too bad it only happens once a year.I can’t wait until next year.I wonder what class am I going to next.
